Description

Our Berry flavour is the same potassium-forward hydration formula as our clinically tested Apple — just with pressed berry instead of apple. Real fruit, Maritime sea salt, no artificial dyes or added sugar. Drink it from the pouch or freeze it for a clean-label freezie that beats anything in the freezer aisle.

Highlights
  • Same potassium-forward formulation as our clinically tested Apple
  • 5:1 potassium-to-sodium ratio — calibrated for everyday hydration
  • Pressed real berries — no fruit-juice concentrate, no synthetic flavours
  • No artificial dyes (including Red No. 3, still permitted in Canada)
  • No added sugar — only natural fruit sugar
  • Drink it cold OR freeze it as a clean freezie
  • Made in PEI, Canada
Ingredients

Undiluted apple cider, Undiluted blueberry juice, Undiluted Cranberry Juice, Water, Pectin (Citrus), Citric Acid, Potassium citrate,  Sea Salt, Ascorbic Acid

Nutritional Facts

Per serving (one pouch, 60 mL):

  • Calories: 30
  • Total carbs: 7 g
  • Sugar (from fruit, no added): 6 g
  • Sodium: 20 mg (1% DV)
  • Potassium: 102 mg (3% DV)
  • Vitamin C: 60 mg (67% DV)
Why a 5:1 Potassium-to-Sodium Ratio

Most sports drinks deliver a 1:3 potassium-to-sodium ratio, built for elite athletes losing 1-2 grams of sodium per hour. SumGood goes the other direction: 5:1 potassium-forward, closer to coconut water (~12:1) than to Gatorade (~1:3). Why? Because more than 80% of Canadians fall below the potassium Adequate Intake (Health Canada).

For everyday hydration, you need more potassium and less sodium than the sports-drink aisle assumes.

How to Use

Two ways to enjoy SumGood:

🥤 As a shot
Best when sipped over 10-15 minutes for steady absorption (your gut absorbs electrolytes better than a single gulp).

🧊 As a freezie
Pop it in the freezer for 6+ hours. The format tested in our MSVU clinical study. Especially good for post-workout, hot summer days, or when nothing else tastes good (morning sickness, migraines, recovery from illness).

When to reach for one:

  • After a workout, hot-yoga, or any hard sweat
  • During pregnancy or breastfeeding (discuss with your healthcare provider)
  • When a child needs a cleaner alternative to juice boxes
  • Summer heat, hot-weather travel, or long days outdoors
  • Anytime you'd otherwise reach for water plus something
  • Pre-sport (hockey, volleyball, etc).  Anytime you reach for an apple sauce... Sum Good is the next level up.

The Science Behind SumGood

Our formulation was tested in a 2024 clinical study at Mount Saint Vincent University (n=60 healthy adults, 30 female, 30 male, ages 19-35). In the frozen format, two SumGood freezies after exercise reduced thirst by 43%, fatigue by 38%, and nausea by 49% versus immediately post-exercise, with palatability rated 7.0/9 on a hedonic scale, statistically equivalent to pizza.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from Gatorade or Liquid I.V.?

SumGood is potassium-forward (5:1 K:Na), not sodium-forward (1:3 or 1:5 like sports drinks designed for elite athletes). Plus no artificial dyes, no added sugar, no synthetic ingredients. It's hydration calibrated for everyday people, not marathon runners.

Can I drink this during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

SumGood is a food made from pressed fruit and minerals. As with any new food during pregnancy or lactation, discuss with your healthcare provider. Read our pregnancy hydration guide.

Is it safe for kids?

Within Health Canada electrolyte ranges, free of artificial dyes and added sugars, generally yes, though water and milk remain the foundation. Always check with your pediatrician. Read our pediatric guide.

How long does it take to freeze?

6+ hours in a standard freezer for a fully frozen freezie. 2-3 hours for slushy texture.

Does it count as one of my daily water servings?

Yes, all fluids count toward your daily total water (IOM: 3.7 L/day for men, 2.7 L/day for women, including water from food).

Made in Canada

Our pressed fruit comes from real fruit, and our sea salt comes from the Maritime coast. We're proudly listed in Canadian grocery, pharmacy, and practitioner channels, and we partner with Mount Saint Vincent University on our clinical research.
